As I've been reading the pages in the forum a lot of Boxers have allergies to food and to environmental factors. Can you please share some of these with me? Nylah has some type of allergies and honestly I, being a single father for Nylah, can't afford the costly skin tests ($140) and allergy testing ($390) all at once. I've read she can develop allergies up to the age of 4 yrs and she is now only 1 yr and 4 months. I was hoping that I'd be able to see a pattern so that I could begin targeting some of the factors that might be stimulants.

Lola seems to have a chicken allergy. She's ok with fresh chicken but on most chicken based kibble she scratches her ears like mad and chews at her paws. That is apart form Orijen kibble, so far so good with the chicken on that and this is the second bag :)

My girl has none that I know of but my boy is allergic to wheat and also a lot of grasses-so seasonal allergies. Eliminating the wheat really made a big difference for him and I pretty much avoid grain in general. My girl I never gave grains to so perhaps that is why she has fared better. Hope you have luck figuring out your sweet girl

We know for sure he's allergic to fleas and chicken in kibble and there may also be some underlying enviormental allergies. Right now I am in the same spot you are, I get reimbursed for my mileage at my job so I have been putting those checks into my savings account that earns interest and hopefully soon we will be able to afford the testing. Then I have a feeling the list will get quite a bit longer

Napoleon is allergic to almost everything... or it seems he is.

chicken, lamb, turkey, rice, carrots, several grasses, several trees,
most flowers, carpet fibers, CATS... to name a few. He was miserable.

After years of changing foods, washing bedding almost daily, steroids, allergy pills, etc, we decided to get him tested. And it was well worth it.
He gets shots now and he is much happier. My checkbook is not as happy, but he is worth every penny of it. :)

good luck!!!

Roxy is allergic to grains, mainly rice and wheat, and I think I have figured out Buster is allergic to chicken. I think he might also have some allergies to something outside, but I don't know what that is yet.

I can't say Mackensie is "allergic" because we've never had her tested, but I do believe she has some sensitivities to grains and lamb. After switching to a grain free food, the sores between her toes have disappeared, eyes have stopped running, and she has firm stools. She also seems to be sensitive to lamb as she has diarrhea and vomits if she consumes it...

Steeler is allergic to a lot of things: wheat, flour, corn, oats, chicken, barley, most all grains, lamb and more but those are the main ones. He is on a food that only consists of fish and sweet potatoe. He gets diarrhea, vomits, chews his paws and scratches. We just avoid those products and he doesnt have to take any meds.

Milo has seasonal allergies and is allergic to dust mites. His skin turns all red and he scratches at everything until he bleeds. He is on medicine during his bad times.

Thanks everyone for responding. So far I have switched Nylah dog dog food, gotten rid of the crate pillow and definetely thrown out all the raw hides. Her rashes are disappearing and she is doing so much better. I am still going to do the allergy testing down the line, but you all have helped me to begin targeting some of the allergies.
