Shaq Lugones

Boxer Pal
Hello...I have a 1 1/2 year old brindle boxer and I just noticed he has a rash on his chest. They are small red bumps and I cannot think of what it could be. I know some dogs are allergic to milk, however, we have been giving Shaq a little bit of milk with his food for a long time now and he has never shown any type of allergic reaction, ie. vomiting, diarrhea...

Do you know if the milk might be causing the rash? any ideas???

Grunt is also a brindle and a year and a half, and has had this type of rash on his chest off and on since he was 6 months old. It is the only part of his body that is affected. Vet thinks it is an allergy to something (possibly chemical) in the carpet, which is fairly new. We've changed his diet to a higher quality kibble (Nutro Ultra) with homecooking, and that has helped a little. Grunt never had milk, except for the Epilac the breeder had him on, which we continued for a couple of months (mixed in with his kibble). It would be good to make an appointment with your vet and have the rash checked out. Hopefully, you can pinpoint the cause of the rash right away. Let us know what you find out.

Adult dogs don't need milk and it can cause problems. You could try giving yogurt instead.
