Seizures in Boxer
Our 8 year old boxer was healthy, one night he had a seizure while laying on the couch, he lost his bladder, we ran him into the vet right away, it last about 15 minutes. The vet gave us phenabarbatol. We gave him his first pill the next morning. I went home to check on him at lunch and he was dead in our back yard. I was so angry at our vet. Now we have another boxer who is now 2 years old. He is fixed. And he has been dribbling which the vet says is incontinence. He also had a bacterial infection which was treated with Baytril and the bacteria is now gone but he has a few more days to go on the Baytril. He has been on proin for almost 8 weeks. We have increased his dosage from 75 mg a day to 100mg and it didn't help. Now the vet is increasing it from 100mg a day to 150mg. I am so scared and worried all the time because of what happened to our other boxer. Does it hurt to have him on Baytril and Proin at the same time? The vet said it doesn't. He trembles alot in his sleep, jerking kind of. I don't know if he is just sleeping very deep or if it is the medication. When we increased the Proin last night, he was very very restless, I was afraid he was going to have a heart attack. He would sleep on the bed for 15 minutes then on the floor and just back and forth. He has had a Bladder Sonogram and several blood tests and nothing shows up. Please give me some hope. Thanks
