Are dogs amune to scorpion stings like cats?

I have read that most scorpions found in the USA are relatively nontoxic. They do contain digestive enzymes that cause very bad pain when stung. There are a few scorpions that also contain a venom which is toxic to the nervous system.

My guess then would be no, dogs are not amune from stings. If any of my guys were stung I would be at the vets asap.

Hi. We used to live in Mesa, and boy did we have scorpions! We had the bark scorpions which are one of the worst kinds of scorpions. I would ask my vet before a possible sting what he would recommend you do if your dog got stung. We now live in NM where we also have scorpions, but they are not poisonous. Joe, my Boxer got stung in the mouth and paw just last week. He limped for about the first 5 steps he took and that was it. I say it's better to be prepared!
