Scary dog collar story(long) I have definitely learned a lesson tonight~

Poor Hummer- glad to hear he's doing better now. Although I bet it scared him half to death not being able to get away from all that loud noise(that he was making).
Guess it's a lesson for us all that you just never know what can happen and never to say never. I would have never thought that the dishwasher would be out to get my boxer, but I guess it's possible even though I dont let Titan near the dirty dishes when the door is open on the dishwasher.

This same exact thing happened to me. I read it to my husband because it was the same exact scenario. Broken plates and all. We still keep Bugzy's collar on though because he so unruly we have to be able to grab him. We just make sure we're very careful.

I think I received more physical harm then Hummer I am black and blue on my fore arm, wrist and my leg right about the height where the dish washer door is when its open. Hummer on the other hand is emotionally tattered at the mere sound of rattling dishes. Again I think his attempts to lick dirty dishes is going to be a thing of the past from now on. :o
I still can't believe how it all happened so quickly.I was completely unable to help him because of his complete psycho/terrified reaction. There just was no getting a hold of him. I don't know what I would have done if the collar hadn't worked itself free :confused: Scary thought.

OMG! :eek: How scared everyone must have been! Poor Hummer! I'm glad to hear that's he's ok! Give him lots of hugs and kisses for me.
Poor Hummer! I never really thought about a dishwasher accident, Samson loves licking the dishes and it is really gross! I don't know if he likes the food or the soap better. He's actually kind of sick today because he licked and drank too much bubble bath water out of my son's bath last night. I should have known what he was doing in there!
Ritzy, that's great about the fork, Samson made the funniest mess all over his face a few nights ago trying to lick cool whip off a spoon.

OH that IS scary. Joey likes to try to sniff/lick the dirty dishes and I won't allow it either. I never thought about him getting hung on the rack though.
We had a bad collar experience also. One day, Joey was laying in his crate while I was doing something in the kitchen. Somehow, he got his collar hung on the inside of his crate, where the door to the crate attaches. He started thrashing around inside and moved the crate all the way across the room before I could get to him and unhook him. Since then, I have made sure his collar is snugger so it can't happen again. As someone else mentioned, Joey is too rowdy to leave without a collar on. We have to be able to control him and without it, there is no way.

we had something similar happen at our house. Cassius and Otto both had collars on./..they were playing and their collars got tangled..lots of screaming(me!)boxers pulling,tugging almost choking...just as bf got the scissors in hand they untangeled...VERY SCARY..moral of story..no collars are worn other than for walks!!!
OMG! What a terrible story, poor hummer. I am glad to hear that everybody came out ok and that no real damage was done. I have never even thought about taking Roxie's collar off when she is inside but I'll start making a habit out of it now. Rox likes to stick her head in the dish washer to.
