Riggo Vet
I just wanted to, first of all, say how sorry I am to hear about Riggo and his diagnosis. I just wanted to send a quick note about the veterinary oncologist that I think you're seeing. There's only one onco.vet. that I know of in West Chester, PA, and she is absolutely excellent. I have had both of my dogs treated by her for mast cell tumors. The first day I brought my puppy to her for assessment/staging of his mast cell tumor, I met a woman whose dog had been being treated for 3 years for lymphoma by this doctor. The dog continued to do very well. I was very surprised and heartened to hear this. I had never heard of a dog surviving so long with that disease. I since did some research on this vet. and realized that she has patented monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of lymphoma and has done extensive research on familial breed lines and lymphoma incidence. She is really very well-respected and has an absolutely superb track record of lymphoma and related cancers such as leukemia. You are in great hands. My own dogs continue to do well one year post-treatment for their mast cell tumors (fingers crossed). One had radiation for a month (every day) and the other just surgery (different grade tumors and anatomic locations).
Just thought I'd pass along my two cents. You should feel very encouraged that you found this doctor. I wish you and your dog the very best.
