ColormeCody,

No real apology necessary. Any information I can get is appreciated good or bad it'll keep me better informed. Too bad is was an advanced form.

The energy and responsiveness swings continue. Riggo's diarhea was not quite as bad this morning. I started feeding him a more bland diet last night after doing some more research. I had been giving him just about any kind of people food I knew that he liked to take his prednisone, he loves Mcdonalds cheeseburgers. Now he is getting bland potatoes and plain grilled chicken
in addition to his normal dry food.

Did Cody ever shake? Riggo has had a couple of times when he just shakes for about 3-4 minutes.

Colormecody/Cancer

Just wanted you to know how sorry I was to hear about your Cody - I similarly had to humanely euthanize my dog when her condition rapidly deteriorated and she could no longer walk. Not an easy decision to make, but one that was (and is) done out of love when she entered the final stages of her terminal illness. My heart goes out to you - Cathy

Lafsalot,

I was really interested in discussing Riggo with the person whom you tried to post her email to the board before they x'd it out.

I have turned on the PM in my email profile so you can do it that way.

News for Riggo's Owner

Still couldn't PM you this morning, so will cut and paste the latest update from the other owner you were asking about:
Oh Cathy.... How nice of you to remember us... prayers are very much needed with this condition as there is no cure... His Chemo was stopped due to the impact on his liver... but, the dr., a wonderful young guy, put Cole on 3 tabs of SAMe, the over the counter vit. supplement... It's having a positive impact and we'll test his liver in two weeks to see if more progress has been made. He's also on kd prescript. canned food with his kibble.

Cole has gained a lot of weight - up to 70 pounds, a long way from the 49 he was down to at death's door... I'd like to take 5 pounds off him, but don't think that will happen. He's walking a mile in the morning - good for his hind leg muscles - and shorter potty walks... great when I think of him collapsed and unable to get up... whew...

For now, he's happy, loved and well cared for... he even plays a little. That makes it all worth it! He's such a wonderful and good boy!

Momstaxi,

I appreciate the kind words.

I think that Riggo has stabilized. He has fantastic energy some time and other times doesn't. His responsiveness which used to be enthusiastic sometimes is but more often then not he needs a little encouragement. Still wants to play with his outdoor red ball with the handle but doesn't seem interested with his inside ball unless I encourage him. God it seems like only yesterday that I'ld be sitting on the couch and he'ld be tossing the ball at me nudging me to play. At least though he seems alert. He even walked up the stairs and licked the water off my legs this moring when I got out of the shower. Something he hasn't done in a while.

His second chemotherapy treatment is tomorrow.

Administrator do you have any input.
