This is more of a behavior question then an issue...because I have no issue with it.....
We had my grandparents over for dinner this weekend and when we were sitting on the couch Tessa came over and sat on my lap. She didn't lay down or cuddle just plain sat her butt on my lap. I thought it was very cute and just laughed and gave her loves. But then Tugg went over to grandma to get some love and Tessa promptly got up from my lap and sat on grandma's lap. Then when Tugg came over to me she again moved from grandma to me. Was she just telling Tugg "she's mine" or what? Is this a possessive signal? They do get a little jealous of each other at times but nothing serious. I do notice that most of it revolves around my attention. Again I'm not very worried about it just curious.

Yes, sounds like she's claiming you as her possession (or at least trying play keep away). I personally wouldn't permit it -- not because it's necessarily going to escalate but because it sends the message that you're passive.

They can posture over toys all they want, but not people.

You don't have to react particularly strongly, just shove her off and tell her to go play, or sit down, or something. Give attention on your terms.

I tend to say "Mama don't play that!" if I'm sitting on the floor with one dog and another horns in. Just get up and leave.
