Sad story from my town

This is a huge debacle in my city right now as you will be able to see from reading this article. The part that really will heat you is some of the responses from the message board. There are people calling animals things. I gave that person a piece of my mind for calling pets "things". Just read it and let me know your opinion. There are people outside the clinic protesting right now. This clinic is kind of a monopoly in my town. It is the only one like it that is why it is such a big deal.

wow that's insane. $1000 is a lot to come up with on the spot. I know I wouldn't have it!

That is insane. I have been to several different parts of the country and to dozens of vets, I have yet to meet one that would be like that. :( They all had payment arrangements for emergencies. That poor family. :(

Update

This has just been a huge mess! Unfortunately I have not been able to locate a 24 hour emergency clinic in my town besides this one. Every "Animal Hospital" that I have called to check to see if they are open 24 hours uses this Emergency Clinic. Fortunately I have not had to take Harry there for any reason. I know his vet is one of the Dr's that rotates for the emergency clinic. I guess I am left with no other option if something (God forbid) were to happen to Harry.
The last I heard on the puppy was that the clinic had still not released her back to her owner but one of the vets did take the situation to the Board of Directors. They are not releasing any information in regards to where the puppy is or if it is even alive. They had alluded that they might have put the puppy to sleep.
