I would LOVE to take her. I have asked DH a hundred times if we could get Darby a brother (or if it would work out I would take a girl but will never put Darby in harms way). I will do my best for help this baby out. It seems like for ever since I emailed the rescue

Now, Misty . . . you posted at 9:18 to say you would be emailing Green Acres and then again at 11something to say you were having a hard time waiting. Jeepers!
The person who handles intake is out of town at a veterinary conference and you probably won't get a response until sometime over the weekend.
I honestly don't know if we have a spot for this dog. We have several waiting to come into rescue so who knows. We also have an eight-year-old female on our web site who is very nice but no one even gives her a second look. So I fear this new dog would be a very tough placement. In fact, we are trying to find a new foster home for Brandy because her foster mom is pregnant and needs some time off from fostering once the baby comes.

I would love to take this dog (or one at green acre. I look on there everyday and pray that HD would let me save one) and love for Darby to have a brother or sister. But I am not the only one at my home so I cant just take in everything and anything I would like. I also figured that this (Green acres) would be wishful thinking. There are just to many people out here that are to willing to get rid of there dogs instead of remembering what they promised the dog when they got it. Couldn't you talk your dh into letting you take the dog and keeping her until you can find a more perment home for her or getting her into a rescue. Maybe that will help chanage his mind. I feel so bad for this poor girl. Thats horrible that someone has a pet for such a long time and then deciedes that they can't take care of it for silly reasons.

Crowpete - I think you are doing all you can to help out in this situation. Understandly not all husbands are willing to take in another dog. You can only do what you can and I commend you for what you've been doing. All the best and I pray this poor girl get a good home. Shame on this who give up on their animals so easily!!!

I really wish I could talk DH into letting me. DH just started a new job so he is now gone Monday through friday afternoon and I work in a different town then we live so DH's dad stops in and lets Darby out during the day. I could not ask him to take on another responsiblity also. I am trying my best to find a job in the town we live in so FIL does not have to take care of Darby during the day. I wish, I wish, I wish I could take her but I will do what I can to help her out. If only DH felt a little more like I do about helping these babies out!
Hey-sounds like you're doing all you can.Don't feel bad.It wouldn't do the poor dog any good to bring it into a household that's not ready for it. Paws crossed everything will work out so this old baby has a wonderful loving new forever home. Kudos to you for helping.
