Sad for a Boxer!

Couldn't they or you organise for this poor girl to go into rescue, at least her future owners will be vetted. Her present owners obviously don't care for her, poor girl

It sounds like the Wisconsin Boxer Rescue is full at the moment.

I am going to talk with this lady tonite and see how it goes. When I said to her lastnite about living on the main road in town she failed to mention to me that they sold their house and are moving. So I am begining to wonder what the real story is. I will find out if she is lying to me because my aunt and her are friends and work togehter.

Where at in Wisconsin are you? Have you thought about contacting a rescue in a neighboring state?
This just breaks my heart that people are so heartless as to just treat their family member like disposible garbage. There should be a law against this kind of behavior.

That poor girl-some people just shock me! Could you contact Darby's vet to help? Ty's vet asked us if we were interested in another boxer-an elderly couple moved into a small apartment and wanted to re-home their older boxer. We called the lady and they had already found her a home-someone else from Ty's vet office. Also, when I had to re-home my friend's 2 boxers, Ty's vet office called other vets they know-even out of state. A NY vet asked a family he knew who had just lost their male boxer and wanted a companion for their female-they ended up with 2 companions and Pete and Lucy went to a great home-they send me pics and e-mail updates. Sorry to ramble, but at least the vets know who their good clients are that take good care of their fur babies. It worked those 2 times at Ty's vet, so maybe it's worth a shot for you. Good luck, I really hope things work out for that poor baby.

Well I called the lady lastnight and told her DH would not let us take the dog. I also told her that I sent an email to Green Acres Boxer Rescue. She sounded kind of happy that I did but I told her they sound like they are full right now but I gave her the email address to GABR. Then when I asked her if they are selling their house she did not want to talk a hole lot more. I did get out of her that they bought land in the country and will be building a house out there sometime. She tried saying that her husband is the one that wants the dog gone but she is hoping that he will change his mind. But what I dont get is he is gone all the time and if she is the one that has to take care of the dog then why is she doing this? Witch come back to the idea that they do not want the dog in the new house when they build one! If I find anymore out I will let you all know. But I will be praying that they change their mind and keep her.

The Boxer Rescue organization in northern Illinois (they'll help Wisconsin people, too) is www.boxerrebound.com. But, like I said earlier, they were also full in late December. Sounds like GABR is still quite full.

Misty, did you hear back from Kathy? I just checked our waiting list (of dogs needing to come into rescue) and it looks like there are 7 dogs waiting for foster spots to open up. I'm assuming we can probably add this dog to our waiting list.

It is a shame when people give up on animals so easily. Over the years we've had lots of dogs surrendered because the dog refused to stay on the property or whatever. I really don't know why people think that dogs have an innate understanding of property boundaries.

Yes, Kathy did get back to me. She said there are many dogs on the waiting list so for now all she can do is put this dog on the waiting list IF the owner contacts her. I did give the lady GABR's email address and she sounded kind of happy that I contacted you but I dont know if she will email you or not. So now I am not sure what to do. I dont want to get this lady mad at me but do you think I should follow up in a few days with her or should I leave it alone? Still hoping they change their mind!
