I didnt get that one I went to LL Bean but my 21 month old boy took a large as he is at 78 lbs. You might want to check out LL Bean, what I love about them is that they have a lifetime guarantee along with a lifetime return policy. The one you are looking at looks nice, good luck.

40lbs = medium

Maddy is 10 months and is 40lbs and I bought her a Medium size and she loves it, really gooood quality, worth it for the price we paid.

I have three dogs that I have just bought the K-9 Overcoats for. Cassie is 3 years old and about 48 lbs. and wears a medium. Rocky is 2 years old and about 53 lbs. and alos wears a medium. Shultz is a German Shepard mix about 67 lbs. and wears a large. The coats fit great and they allow them to run around like crazy without the coats flopping around. They love them. We just had our first snow this last weekend and on Sunday they all 3 were running in the snow like crazy

Thanks for the replies!
I just don't know what size to get. Owen is almost 8 months, weighs 55 pounds but still growing. Right now he would take a medium but don't know how long it will fit him for. So was thinking of getting a large and he'll grow into it.
I may just have to get the medium and if he needs another one next year get a large.
Such decisions ;)

Kim,
If you would like since I have a large K-9 Overcoat for my Shepard Mix I could try it on Rocky who seems to about the same size as your Owen. I can then let you know how the large fits on Rocky. Rocky is 2 years old and about 53 lbs., he wears a medium and it fits great, but I don't think he will get much larger.

That would be great if you could do that! I REALLY appriciate it!
I just want to know if the large would be swimming on him where its to a point of falling off or something - if that's the case then I'll get a Med. for now. If I know I could get away with it then I'll get the Large b/c I know he's going to grow more.
Thank you SOOO much!

Wallace weighs 53 lbs and has a medium that fits her perfectly. She loves it and now won't go outside without it when it is raining. You can call Ruff Wear and ask them about sizing. I just called today to ask about the boots and they were very helpful.

I just called, thanks for suggesting that. They said its supposed to fit snugly, that's what keeps them warm and the Large will def. be too big on him right now. So I'll get the Medium and just may have to spring for a second one next year :) Thanks!

We just bought our two Ruff wear coats. Sam - 75 pound fit into a large and we ordered a med for Hailey - 55 pounds. However we have found that the med is a little too short so we are sending it back for a large for her. They are great coats though.
