Boxer Pal
hello, I am temporarily in Davenport, Iowa although we are from a Detriot, MI suburb( my husband attends chiropractic school here)!
I never knew what boxers were about until I got my first 8 months ago. I just knew I wanted a loving ,protective ,kind, good with children dog, and the boxer breed seemed to fit. Now I just got my second, and I am trying to learn to much, because I am a first time owner. I never imagined how special boxers are they are now my world, they come first to nearly everything, they sure know how to get you!

Welcome to BW and congrats on your boxer. You are so right when you say

"how special boxers are they are now my world, they come first to nearly everything, they sure know how to get you!"

New in the forum

Hi,

I'm new here in the forum too, but not in BW. I've been reading and checking pictures a lot.
We adopted a boxer=Sir Lancelot on Columbus day, 97 , from the ASPC shelter in Manhattan, after 8 months of having gotten a Doberman from the same place (because Mr. Timber was always depressed when we went to work, and now we have 2 depressed dogs...).
Lance (for short) had no training what so ever. Some times came in front of us when we were sitting in the sofa and started peeing..Took us a year of crating him day and night(sleep) time to eliminate the pee behavior, but now he's a Champ.
One sad thing is, after 2 knee surgeries he's over weight and his artritis is kicking in fast and he is slowing down a looottt....
It's like my boys got my side of the family trait(arthritis) :))
Thank you all for being here and making this a nice place to learn about our loved boxers.
