Our Ribby crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning.
Ribby gave Brenda, me, and her many human pals so much love and so many fun times over these past (all too short) 9 1/2 years! In return, our little 50 pound girl never asked for much. This morning was different though - she asked us to perform the most heartbreaking task we've ever done. We had to help her cross that Rainbow Bridge.
Ribby laid on my lap as my wife drove us to her veterinarian. Her friends there were all very sad. They've always said she's a special one and promised me they weren't just saying that. Brenda and I held Ribby and kissed her sweet "boxer mug" as the drugs worked their magic. She slipped away very peacefully; with no signs of pain or regret. We're pleased that we were strong enough to do this one thing that she asked and needed to have done - but it surely was tough...
We buried Ribby's worn out little body out beside our pool. The three of us have spent so many fun times out there that it just seemed the perfect spot... While she'll always be in our hearts, now we'll be able to glance at her marker anytime we need a lift in our spirits. So many fun times with her to be remembered... Ribby was a special little soul. We are fortunate to have been owned by her.
Rest in peace my "Bestest Buddy"...
