So sorry to hear this Bud, but proud of your courage & strength! I hope when the time comes for Romie, I can show half as much....Ribby was lucky to have great parents like you & your wife.

Bud, so sorry you are grieving. Tough thing to do, but can't let our babies be in pain. This morning my husband and I held Hoss as he was put to sleep. Couldn't believe how instantly I felt his absence. These Boxers are definitely sweet spirits. Hoss went downhill rapidly over the last few days. It hurt so much to see him in such discomfort. 7 years was was too short of a time for us to have with our Hossy boy.
I hope you will be feeling better soon.
In our thoughts.

I am so sorry! Ribby was lucky to have you. The pain will eventually fade, but the happy memories will remain for ever.

Run free at the bridge Ribby! Godspeed.

So sad to hear of Hoss's passing... Your loss is especially tragic - your special boy was so very young! With lives significantly shorter than our own, our four-legged pals must, by necessity pack so much living into each and every day. How fortunate that boxers are so uniquely capable of doing exactly that!

Mere words certainly cannot approach the depths of sadness that each of us feels upon the loss of these special souls from our lives. So happy to have found this forum filled with such like-minded people who've chosen to share their love with this special breed...

I've kneeled at Ribby's grave several times these past two days... Cannot believe she's gone... Now, I'm sitting here in our living room - typing on my iPad with tears in my eyes... Thankfully, another special soul joined our family yesterday afternoon! She's dozing right now with her chin resting on my right foot. Yesterday, I surprised my wife with the only thing that could have made even a dent in our sadness at having buried Ribby yesterday morning. We picked up "Banshee", our beautiful 6-week-old boxer puppy, several days sooner than planned! Brenda hadn't a clue till i announced it while pulling into the lot where Banshee was getting her shots! We both just absolutely know that Ribby wouldn't have wanted it any other way! The only times our girl was ever sad was when my wife & I were upset about something...

I plan to post about Banshee in a more cheerful section of this site in the future. But I will post here also, whenever I believe Ribby's experiences can help someone to feel a bit better. I owe her & those of you who've helped us no less than that. Thank you!
