I have alot of "critics" out there telling me that my dog looks like a mutt. Any one think so? What are your opinions?

Your pup is definately a cutie, but by the shape/definition of his head and length of muzzle, he looks to me like a pit/boxer mix. also, the "reverse brindle" looks black to me (but it could just be because of the lighting).. even w/ the most reverse, you should be able to see fawn stripings here and there. (Black is not in the boxer genetics... i've seen some very dark reverse brindles on the show circuit, but all of which you could see a fawn stripe or 2) JMHO ;) hope that helps. love him for all is has to offer, which i undoubtedly know u will. :)

Who cares what the critics think! Duece looks so sweet and even if he is a mix his love and companionship will most definitely not be affected! I too think he may be mixed with a pit or some kind of terrier because of the length of muzzle. He is still way young and may change more as he gets older. Give that sweet boy lots of kisses from me!

Well he doesn't look exactly as a boxer is meant to - the muzzle is pretty long and isn't apparently (obviously) undershot. His ears are very large too. But that doesn't necessarily mean he is a mix - there are plenty of supposedly purebred boxers on this site that are less characteristic of the breed than your boy. So I wouldn't take the shape of his muzzle as definitive by any means.

I do have a question about his colour though. It is difficult to tell from your photos, but is he brindle or is he black? If he does have definitive brindle striping, then the question is still open - he may or may not be purebred. If, however, he actually is black (or more correctly a very dark solid brown) then you can be certain that he is a mixed breed.

Purebred or mixed, he's a very cute puppy who'll undoubtably grow into a great dog. Love the photo of him with his mouth open and ears flying btw - what a cutie, enjoy him :)

I think he's fabulous, and I love the picture of him tilting his head to the side. Way cute, and don't worry about what people say. If you love him that's all that counts.
