Let me just say WOW! What an amazing movie. I suggest everyone go see this when they have the time. 3.5 hours but worth every minute. Bring some tissues!!
I was one of the geeks who went to Trilogy Tuesday - the extended version of the first two, followed by the new one - what an incredible experience - and I agree with you - WOW. The final installment was worth the wait and has to be seen on the big screen - it's amazing!
I don't know how you did it! My back was killing after 3.5 hours in that movie seat, you must be a truly devoted fan. I have all the extended DVD's so I just watch them from home. Poor Tolkien is rolling over in his grave right now ... you know he never wanted the rights to LOTR sold, If I'm not mistaken he specified it in his will.
As much as I enjoyed the Return, I still like Fellowship best of all. But I can't wait until the Return of the King is on DVD and I can watch all three from beggining to end.
I can't wait to see it. I have both 1 and 2 on DVD. I have to say I was really mad at the marketing stunt of coming out with an extended version a few months after release on DVD. Let's just say for the 2nd one I waited. Nevertheless it is a great trilogy. I agree I don't think I could have sat for the entire Trilogy Tuesday!
I loved the movie last night and will be the first to have it on DVD. We watched it last night on the Imax here in Dallas ( that was very out of focus)on Webb Chappel rd. The movie was not Imax format but it was still huge and the sound effects were awesome. The thing that really got me was that they spen so much time and money on the movie to make some dumb mistakes. Did you notice @ the end when frodo is huggung everyone that his finger has regrown, last time I checked he was not a reptile. Did you notice that Legolas eyes were brown sometimes and blue sometimes in the trilogy. Did you notice that gollums pupils would be small ina conversation then very large when the camera panned back to him after being on frodo for only a second. It was really bad when he was looking at his reflection in the water while plotting to kill the Sam and Frodo. I am a perfectionist but I still loved the movie.
