Holden's Mom
Boxer Insane
It was three years ago today our Petey boy left for the Bridge, and I could not let this day go by without a post in his memory. Pete was special, like all boxers to their people. Gentle and strong, he accepted all people, from little ones to aging grandparents. He loved me, but was daddy's boy. And Pete was talkative, woo wooing when he wanted out, or was bored and needed to play.
His days with us were always fun because he was fun. Petey loved his daily routine, the long walks with dad in the morning, the outings with Cooper and Elllie for a break, the afternoon walks with me and Susan and Sitka. He went everywhere we did. Trips to the east coast, to Hilton Head, to visit relatives in Indianapolis- if Pete couldn't go, we didn't go. He loved to travel as it meant stopping for food. Wendy's and Arby's were his favorites, and a visit to the doggie bakery in Indianapolis was a must.
Pete's time with us was all too short, just a bit over five years. But the memories he left us are forever.
Mom and Dad miss you Petey.
