Our 5 1/2 month old boxer has been very well behaved so far. We thought that he was potty trained but lately he has been just going in the house right in front of us. Until a couple of days ago, he hasnt had an accident in the house for about a month. We dont know if it is an issue with house training, in that we thought he was trainined and really isnt. Or if its a behavioral issue. We would love any advice. Thanks!!

It's possible he has a urinary tract infection. If he's around other dogs, have they been sniffing him more? That's usually a tip off, as are accidents in a housebroken dog.

Assuming your household routine has been pretty stable (no recent upheavals that might explain it) I'd take a urine sample to your vet. If you've never done it before, go out with him first thing in the morning with a paper plate and some kind of glass jar (or triple bagged sealable baggie!) and when he starts to urinate, wait a second for the first bit of urine to pass, then put the plate on the ground and hope to capture some of the rest of it :)

Then pour into the container and take to the vet.

I thought about a UTI, but he has had a urinary tract infection before and was just retested not too long ago. He is not displaying any similar behaviors which is why I dont think it is a health issue. Also, he is pooping more in the house than anything else. But his stools are solid and he isnt having any trouble. Any other suggestions?
