I have a 4 month old, and he was in the front yard with us all day while we did yard work. Now he has a rash all over in b/t his hind legs. Is this just irritation from the grass, or is it something I should be concerned about? It doesn't seem to bother Hogan, but it looks terrible. Also can their white areas get sunburned? I'm just a new mom so I don't know these things!

Samantha had the same thing when she was 4 month's old and being the paranoid Mom that I am she went to the vet and the vet informed me that it was from the grass. Samantha was not able to go to the park until all her puppy shots were completed and that is when the rash started when she started going to the park and playing in the grass. Her skin was just not used to it because she had never been on the grass before.

We have this problem with Coco right now and she has an abdominal incision that is getting irritated because of the licking & itching on the bumps. Was there anything you did for it? Just curious because I can't bathe her right now so didn't know if would just go away on it's own or what. I did call our vet this morning and ask about giving her benedryl for the itchies but he hasn't made it in yet and I had to come to work. I put a shirt on her before I crated her and left for work hoping that would make her leave it alone a bit.

For those of you who have a baby with skin allergies, especially seasonal ones, try Claritin (Loratidine). I used to use Benadryl but it never worked for Delilah. Then a friend who has a highly allergic Akita and swears by this told me to try the OTC Claritin. She is also a vet. I checked with my vet as well before I started her on this. All of the redness on her tummy and between her toes has disappeared and she doesn't fuss and lick like she used to.

Wally had the same thing last week and we rubbed a little cortizone on the area and he was fine. We only applied it twice and it went away within 3 days.

Hope that helps!
