Many healing vibes to Riley. Ramos who is 8 mos. old just got a bump on the his back paw, seemed to appear overnight. My breeder told us that Boxers are prone to these hystocytoma?? and they are treatable. Hopefully that is all your baby has even though the labs are inconclusive. Kinda has me worried now too, as we have a vet apt. next week. Good luck and keep us posted.

Well, Riley is home and all is well for the time being. Poor baby was so nervous when we got to the vets. While we were sitting in the waiting room, he began shaking. He clearly sensed that something was going on. I felt so guilty leaving him there.

Now the surgery update. First off, over the weekend I found a THIRD lump on my boy. This one is on his left side just below his armpit. So when I brought Riley in, I asked them check into that one as well. So, there were three lumps in total that I was able to find on Riley that I had asked them to look at. The first one on his back left leg, the second under his chin, and the third on his left side. The vet told me that she would do an Aspirate on the last two lumps while he was under. She didn't want to mess with the one on his chin due to the location of it and the fact that Riley was extremely nervous.

I opted to get the pre-op blood panel done before his surgery to make sure his system could handle the anesthesia and fortunately that came back clean. With that being clear they went ahead and took care of business. The first lump (on his leg) was removed and will be sent out for a biopsy. Once they get the results back they're going to call me (of course I'll post an update once I get the call). The lump on his chin is a histiocytoma so she left that alone and told me to just keep an eye on it. She said that the lump on his side is just a fatty deposit and nothing at all to worry about, she left that one alone as well.

I called to check on him at noon and was told that he was doing great and would be ready for pick up at 3:00pm. I couldn't get there fast enough to get to him!! He was still groggy and kind of slow, but he was as excited to see me as he could be under the circumstances. He has a bandage wrapped around his leg and he has to keep it on for 10 days to keep the area clean and dry.

As of right now, he's curled up on his dog bed covered up in a nice warm fleece blanket. After he had a potty break outside he headed straight to bed on his own. Looks like he's going to have a very relaxing and quiet night.

Here are a few pictures that I got of my baby recouping from his rough day...

I'm happy to hear the big fella is home. Checked the pics and it does look as though Riley is all tuckered out after the surgery. We'll keep him and you in our thoughts and prayers that the lab work comes back clean.

Give that irresistable face a big smooch from me.

Indy and Ava are sending their best Boxer vibes to NH for Riley. I'll be thinking good thoughts for Riley too. I believe I have told you in the past how much his face looks like Indy in some of his photos.

Hang in there, and take care, you've got a lot of people pulling for you.
