Re-Crate Training a 3yo

Completely Boxer Crazy
So Fiona was crate trained as a puppy, she slept in her crate and stayed in it when we went out. But she was never alone. Her crate is in my bedroom and when we weren't home our other dog Thor stayed with her in the room. Sadly Thor passed when she was about 9 months old. She was still OK to sleep in her crate but if I left her in it when I went out, she freaked out. So I never went out, which given the whole covid thing was not that unusual. And then we got Marvin when she was about 18 months, and she was OK being left with him (not in the crate). But now she is bullying Marvin so I'm trying to crate train her so I can actually leave the house. So I pop her in there at night for 1-2 hours whilst we are having dinner etc. And the barking is close to unbearable. At first I'd get an hour before she'd start but sometimes it's 15 minutes. Marvin is in his crate in the same room and this seems to make no difference. Mostly I've just ignored it figuring if I go in and tell her to settle it's just giving her the attention she is craving. It seems to me more of an angry bark than distressed but when I do go to let her our she is just going round and round in circles in her crate. So my question is do I just wait it out and just keep ignoring her? She will sleep in her crate when I go to bed without issues, it's just when no one is in the room with her. I'd really like to leave the house again so any help greatly appreciated.

Why don't you leave Fiona free when you go out and just put Marvin in his crate. You could always shut the door to where Marvin, so Fiona can't go in.

You could try crating Fiona beside you where you normally sit and just tap on the crate if she barks. You could also try an anti-bark citronella collar, or other anti bark device.

Good luck!
