Completely Boxer Crazy
So I went to the local supermarket to try to find Roscoe a raw bone to chew on. I inquired on BW awhile ago as to what type of bones to ask for, and I was told that a lot of times they are called "soup bones" or something to that effect
I asked the guy at the meat counter if they had any raw bones or soup bones and he told me if he did they would be in the miscellaneous meat sections. I go over there and find the bones labeled "soup bones" and they are still covered in meat and fat. Is this normal? Am I supposed to buy these and then cut all the meat and fat off and then give it to Roscoe? I knew I was supposed to scrape the marrow out, but I wasnt thinking there was going to be stuff on them too. Sorry if I sould a little silly asking these questions
That's the best part. Soup bones are indeed meant to have some meat and fat left on them - that's how they flavour soup. Taking some of the marrow out, on the other hand, is a good idea. Not every last bit - it's wonderfully nutritious stuff. But just some, because too much is too fatty.
