Question for owners of 2 or more boxers

We actually took Apollo on a 3 hour car ride to pick up little Miss Cami. We let them play at the foster's home for an hour or so to get used to each other. They have gotten along perfect ever since. Now, my wife and I can't imagine life without two! I would recommend letting them hang out together in a "neutral" place, even if that is another yard or the front yard. This way, your current baby doesn't feel that "their yard/home" is being infringed upon. That seemed to work best for us! It will also take several weeks for them to fully get used to each other. In our case, Cami just followed Apollo everywhere and you could tell that he was annoyed. He just took it for those first couple of weeks and now he bugs Cami as much as she bugs him. I don't think we could keep them apart for very long before they both started to miss each other!!!

We introduced Ruby, male (was 1 and 1/2 yr) to Lily, female (was 9 months) at the front yard. We took Ruby to go get Lily so they had a sniff at eachother at the front yard of Lily's old owners house and Ruby came back in my car and Lily came back in boyfriend's car. It went very well because they both wanted to play. We let them played a bit on their leash in the front yard then let them into the back yard and they played and played and played for about 3-5 days. It was to the point where Ruby was too busy playing to drink any water and his poop was like small pellets. Looking back now, I am amazed that Lily was not aggressive towards Ruby. Now, when she sees another animal, she just charges towards them with the hair on her back standing. I guess we got lucky and Ruby was (still is) a goodboy.

We took Tegan (4 years old) with us to the breeders house when we went to look at the litter and pick out Owen. Owen was 4-5 weeks old at the point. They did not meet each other but she could smell the puppies and see me interacting with them. She showed not issues. When Owen was 8 weeks old we drove back to the breeders and picke up Owen. They were introduced at the breeders in her back yard. They played fine. Tegan tolerates puppies no problem. The 'fun' began when we loaded them up tp drive home. Tegan jumped into the back seat and I placed Owen on the back seat with her, she immediately booted him to the floor. She was not aggressive, simply pushed him right off. I picked him back onto the seat and she pushed him off again! I got the hint. Owen spent the whole ride home on the floor - he didn't seem to mind.

The first week with them being at home was fine. Tegan would play with Owen no problem, but would quickly get up on the couch to get away - she needed her space. Once Owen was big enough to play with they had a ball, and to this day are the best of friends.

I will always have two Boxers in the house, they truely do love each other.
