My boxer is 4 1/2 months old. He has always eaten every morning at 7am and at 7pm. Recently has has stop eating in the morning and eats only at nighttime. I serve him dry dog food. I hate to see him eat only once in the day so sometimes I put food out for him around noon. He always eats all of his food. He is currently teething and has lost both his fangs. I am wondering if that is the reason why he is not eating in the morning. Also, he likes to sleep in the morning after his morning walk at 6:30am.

I just wanted to know if anyone has gone through that same thing. He currently weights about 25 pounds.

Kirra went through a stage where she didn't really want breakfast and she gets stuff on her dry :). DH fed her at noon and she would gobble it all down so I was not really worried. She is now over that and is eating a generous breakfast and dinner but no lunch. Teething makes a big difference on whether they eat or not, sometimes their gums are just too tender to want to chew. As long as she is getting some lunch & dinner and munchies in between I wouldn't worry too much - she WILL let you know when she is hungry :). Kirra will be 6 months on March 11.

i wouldn't worry about that much. the teething does make a difference. but i wouldn't recommend that you place a bowl of food for her around noon. just stick the to the schedule that you had with 7am and 7pm and you'll be fine. remember that a dog will never starve itself on purpose. if you continue to place a bowl for her around noon, your dog may actually become more finicky as a result.
