Purely out of boredom...

So I am really bored and got to thinking....What would we all do if we acquired 5 million dollars....(tax free)?

I would probably quit my job or at least go down to just 1-2 days per week. Pay off my house and other bills. Redo my house but probably still live here....hubby won't agree to that though.....

Invest a good portion of it. Buy a convertible corvette for me and a new duramax pickup for hubby. Lots of toys for my furr-kids.

Pay off immediate families debts. Start a few college funds for nieces and nephews. Set up both sets of parents with enough money to enjoy retirement. Help out a few friends that are struggling.

Donate to animal charities, shelters etc....

Splurge on new furniture for the entire house. Hire a personal trainer. And thank God for my great fortune!!!

Neat thread! Lets see...
I would find a part time (not many hours at all!!!!) job doing something I really loved even if the pay was crappy or I would volunteer at a shelter or rescue (only so I wouldn't get bored)

I would pay off my car and trade it in for a Fully loaded, hooked up, Scion tc...not expensive but my dream car.

I would buy a house in the country with tons of land...cash. I would then totally redo it exactly the way I wanted.

Defiantly get a horse and build a beautiful stable for him on all of my land.

Take a month long all inclusive tropical vacation (someone where Giddy was allowed)

My mom is in a really bad situation so I would probably give her about 1 million.

Give a portion to my family and close friends.

Donate some to animal related charities.

I would then probably just invest the rest and hope it was enough to live on for the rest of my life

Besides the obvious of a new house and car...
I would buy a huge hotel type place and lt would be used for the home less people, I would have them work on the grounds and kitchen detail in return type of thing.
Then I would build a HUGE animal shelter with lots of room for the dogs to run and play!! I would have a full time vet on staff at all times!! and then I would hang out there and just play with all the animals. Plus I would try and make sure that all boxer rescues had what they needed!!

I need to buy a powerball ticket tomorrow!!

I would quit my job, add on to my house, buy a winter home someplace warm, a new truck for dh, kids college, Sounds selfish? Not really I would share. I'd help out family and friends, donate alot to rescues, shelters , and children's charities . Now I just got to get the $

I would quit my job to stay home with my boxer boy & get him a playmate (another boxer of course).
I would set up a college fund for my niece & nephews.
Buy my parents a house.
Renovate my house.
Buy myself and DH new cars. I am driving a 10 year old car right now so why not.
Donate to boxer rescues & other animal rescues in the area.
Donate to local charities.
Host the biggest boxer bash ever!!!

and of course invest a good portion of it for the future.

Oh man on man what woud I do with 5 million big ones?? Well let's see,


Buy a renovated big farm house (or renovate it myself, well PAY someone to renovate it :D

Have at least 100 acres of part wooded, part fields with my house at least 65 acres back from the road

Buy my husband the biggest baddest truck he could ever dream of owning

Buy myself a completely restored 64 1/2-67 Ford Mustang convertible (or maybe all 4 :D)

Buy my 15 yr old the safest car out there (is there one for a 16 yr old??)

Help our immediate family out with a nice sum in their bank accounts

Give lots and lots to charity ( I like the idea about a hotel for the homeless )

Hopefully have enough left to live on so my husband could retire and spend his time relaxing and enjoying doing the things he loves to do but doesnt have time to do right now

AHh that was fun but now I'm off to do dishes and clean house :(
