Hey..i've tried almost everything from saying No and whooping her to even ignoring her whenever she bites..but i cant get her to stop! she has a million chew toys but all she wants to do it chew on me! can someone pleeze help!!
it's a normal puppy behavior. when she bites stand up and leave the room for a minute. they hate being ignored or being left alone. she'll figure out if she bites she'll be ignored pretty quickly and the biting will stop. how old is your puppy?
oh...and i'd avoid "whooping" as it is an ineffective way to train a dog.
Try and re direct her attention to a chew toy. To a puppy, EVERYTHING is a chew toy, including you. If she insists on biting you, make a loud YELP, and leave the room. It will take time and patience, but she'll learn that biting you = you leaving.
Remember that dogs have no equivalent of "pushing away" - when they swat another dog with their paws it's usually an invitation to play. When they climb on another dog, it's a dominance display. Either way it's an engagement encouraging a reaction, not an order to stop.
Yelp, turn away, and leave, if possible. That's dog for "you hurt me and I'm not playing with you."
