Puppy pounds?

HI there! Does anyone know, on average, how much a puppy should gain on a weekly basis? Our "baby" is almost 4 months old and seems to be gaining about 5 pounds per week - he is on the large breed puppy food, as the vet told us to put him on this. Just wondering if this it typical of boxers to grow this fast?!?!

Spike was gaining about 5 pounds a week, but now he has slowed down somewhat (at 15 weeks). I am interested in hearing what others say too!

Leilani was growing about 5 pounds a week also, she is 4 months old now, and is gaining 2-3 pounds a week now. I don't have her on the large breed puppy food either, I tried that, but she always wanted to eat her big brother Samson's food, so I asked the vet if it made a difference if she ate puppy food or not and he said no. He also suggested cottage cheese every now and then so she could get her calcium.

Weight

We are trying to figure out if our pup, Diesel, is of average size. He will be 4 months old on the 24th of this month and weighs 45 pounds. Is this about normal?
