Puppy almost doesn't bark

The only time Vegas barks is when something won't play with him. It might be us, a cat, a dog, a new toy he hasn't quite figured out yet. He has just now (9 Months) started to bark to "protect" our property. Usually he is protecting us for a plastic bag blowing by or something like that :D

Ruby has barked less than 10 times in the 8 months that we have had her--and the majority of those barks have been little "woofs" in her sleep. Only once has she actually barked as though to warn us of something (she saw something beyond our fence). Makes me wonder what it was if she only reserves her bark for very serious situations.

She sure "talks" a lot, though. I don't think it would be considered a "woo," nor is it a whine. Anyone else's do this?

Just be thankful that you don't have the opposite problem. My mom-and-dad-in-law have a little terrier mix that barks and barks and barks. And it is the most piercing bark I have ever heard!

Yep, Cassius is quiet too

Cassius only barks for two reasons: 1) he needs to go outside to do his business, or 2) one of his toys has rolled under the coffee table, or the dining room table, or the couch...you get the idea This trait was one thing I read while doing research on the breed before we got Cassius. They're not your typical "yappy dog."
