I had to laugh reading over these posts...our Boxer is about 3 months old...we got her at 7 weeks of age, and initially, I wasn't going to let her in our bed because I knew what we were in for...however, MY husband had other ideas...he said she was just a baby and shouldn't sleep on the floor...LOL...and now, well, the fur baby is in our bed...sigh...

I still laugh when I read the post on this subject. WE have two boxers that share our King size bed. Both have to sleep as close as posible. The other night I woke up to being squished..Xena had deceided she needed to be close so she laid on top of me!I was on my side and she was laying on my arm across me! The other one, Xanadu..she is under the blankets on my legs. ..I also keep an extra blanket but its not for the dogs! I keep it on the chair next to my bed..so when I wake up and have no covers..and I cant budge either..I reach over and grab the extra blanket and cover myself! I have learned to sleep up around the headboard... but now I have noticed that during the day they lay on each other! So I figured they must think I am one of the pack! and thats why they lay on me all night. LOL! As for the gas thing! try two in bed and when one has it you know the other does too! The other night they were really bad and they were taking turns.. my husband says I dont know how much more of this I can take!.. I just started laughing.. I told him it was laughing gas!
I just have to love them!

It's a Dog's World!

:D I'm glad to see everyone has experienced the fact that we no longer can call our beds our own anymore. I laughed reading all the other experiences, because they are all similiar. I have also taken to having an extra blanket next to my bed so I don't wake up shivering anymore. Heaven forbid Jerry get cold at night! Lately he has taken up the vocal aspect of grumbling when we disturb him. "Move over Jerry, Move down Jerry, Get off my pillow Jerry, Get off my side of the bed Jerry", and then "Grumble grumble..arrrgh..arrgh...arrgh.." With one eye lookin at me, it's Like .....Pleassssssseeeee don't you see I'm sleeping. Yes, bed time is a joyous time here. lol....We are in the planning stages of buying a new sofa bed for our den. The sales man must of thought we were out to lunch, buying a sofa with so many ....what if Jerry this and what if Jerry that? Finally he asked how old our son was???? Son???? What son?? Oh Jerry! ...heheheh...He's 3 years old and is our Boxer! Ya gotta be a dog lover to appreciate the look on his face. And how dare him.....It's only a dog!.....Excuse me! Jerry is a human with 4 legs, beautiful big brown eyes, a loving wet kiss whenever you need it. And the most unconditional love you can ever receive. So what if he drools all over you, sheds all over you, and jumps up knocking you down sometimes when he is happy to see you. Isn't that was Love is all about??? But I do have to admit...Sometimes I miss sleeping next to my husband. It's been almost 3 years. lol

bed habits

My male boxer(bruiser) also loves to sneak onto the bed in the middle of the night, he will go one paw at a time to make sure we are asleep, and then when I leave in the morning for work my wife tells me that bruiser will take over my spot and use my pillow, my wife thinks he is trying to be like daddy:D

That sounds so familiar. If you don't start showing her now, then she will always do it. My boy is about 2 years old now and he still sleeps with us. Yes, he still pushes us off the bed. Now he has learned to get under the covers and won't get comfortable until he's covered. He's such a character. Good luck!

Both my girls will sleep in my bed BUT Brit know she needs to get up before we go to bed cuz she likes to sleep on our pillows. So, I come to bed she's up and in the other room, we found out where she goes! The other morning we had my oldest daughter in my bed along with Baylee. I said to hubby I wonder where Brit is? So, I got up and tiptoed into the kids rooms, and there she was! In my daughters bed on top of the comforter with her head on Kelsey's (my oldest daughters) pillow. No wonder she was in my bed with cold toes! The other kids eventually make there way in my room but usually only when we "try" to sleep in.:p :) Baylee knows that she is only allowed on my side of the bed not on my hubby's since he always pushes her off she has already figured that out!

Completely Boxer Crazy
This is kind of embarassing, but sometimes I will go sleep on the couch because the bed is too crowded.

It's me, my BF 2 dogs and the odd cat. Apollo LOOOOVES to sleep right between us and Foster LOOOOVES to curl up between my legs. It can get pretty uncomfortable... And when my BF starts to snore and Apollo joins in..... WELL, I usually pack it up and go to the den for some REAL sleep (but I have to shut the door so they dogs don't follow me and make it REAL uncomfortable)

Well,Even though we wash or bedding VERY regularly and Nitro gets a bath every 4 days and brushed every 2 days.I would be lost with out him in bed.I find him at night at the foot of our bed in front of the heat register and I have to get a binky out to get him back in bed,That ol hard floor,He had to come to bed and be all confie-Ha Ha I know I baby him to much,But hey is is my boy,On the weekends My son has to sleep with us just because Nitro does.
I would be lost with out him there.
Maybe just me having to have them there I don;t know but I enjoy him being there. And he will not get out of bed until you do ,So he must enjoy it also.
Just my 2 cents worth

breaking the habit

Luther slept with us for a long time until we got him a new bed. We pile pillows around it so he can snuggle if he gets cold. It was hard to kick him from the habit of sleeping with us but as cruel as it sounds we just pushed him nicely off the bed everytime he jumped up and now he won't even get on the bed without permission. He does wake us up when it starts to get light out and on his tip toes lays his head down on us to say please can I come up. We often let him up and he crawls under the covers. I do believe he gets cold.
