Just recently Bella has been getting into bed with me and my partner. She has always slept in our room and this was ok, but now in the early hours of the morning she creeps into bed with us and gets comfortable in between us. I dont know if she has started to do this because the weather is getting colder (England!) I usually wake to find a snoring Bella in my face :p! Now she is bigger she also tries to push ME out of the bed as I am not as heavy as my partner! I often find myself sleeping on the edge of the bed while Bella has all of my pillow to herself :p!!

I don't want Bella to get into the habit of sleeping with us as I am loosing sleep with having to constantly chuck her out of bed. How can I stop her getting in bed with us? Should I just continue to keep pushing her out of our bed?

LOL! DEXTER figured out that if he sleeps on the floor at bedtime he looks inocent until the middle of the night and then he can make his creep into bed. Let me tell you when he sneeks into bed it's undetectable until morning but then by that time it's nice to wake up to such a cute face and lips to match.

My guess is she's cold. Lacey loves to stretch out and enjoys her space on the bed. When it's cold she's right next to me. I have had to tell mine to get down off the bed before. My hubby said I was being mean  I just couldn't take it...they all had the bed and I was hanging on the edge. I wasn't getting any sleep at all!
Mine would go sleep on the sofa's or the floor and they were just fine.
Now that Loki is gone and my hubby is gone a lot and I have a new king size bed....Lacey and I have lots of space.:)

I am thinking of getting Bella a fleace lined basket for her to sleep in. This should keep her warm. I do took her in every night and cover her with a blanket. She looks so sweet, with just her little head popping out :). She is a restless sleeper though and usually stands up and walks around the bedroom with the blanket over her so she looks like a ghost
I may also warm her basket up with a hot water bottle before she gets in bed and then take it out. The things we do for our dogs! I wish I got this sort of treatment :p.

Sounds familiar sleeping on the edge of the bed:LOL:

Except I have 2 of them butting me out of the bed and lately George has developed the habit of actually diving under the duvet and trying to head butt me out!!!!smashicon

They have a fleeced lined bed and they only sleep in it during the day! At night it's my bed.

It's got to the stage now on a night that when I start locking up and turning everything off they shoot up the stairs before me and are flat out by the time I get there! Plus Amber sounds like a wild pig when she's asleep!

My own fault for allowing it when they were tiny cute babies!

Every morning I wake to find Hannah curled up between my legs at the end of the bed. She sleeps alone all night no probs but I guess when morning comes and she wakes she thinks "I'm going to find mum and sleep on her comfy legs!"

When she was younger we had the same prob the only thing that worked was to constantly make her get off when she jumped on. It eventually worked for during the night but as I said we still have the morning issue, personally I like it when she's there :D It's hubby that wakes me up yelling at her to get off smashicon

hmmm,

we started out letting patrick sleep in the bed with us:rolleyes: and now we don't want him there anymore because he sheds soooo much that i would have to change the sheets EVERY DAY so we have been letting him sleep on the floor with a blanket, but when he gets in the bed he goes strait into the crate with his blanket and a treat of course...because we don't want him to think that he is getting punished....don't know yet if it is working, we've only been doing it for a few weeks.
good luck on keeping her out of the bed!!

I'm such a sucker when it comes to Buddy:p He also starts out in his fleece-lined bed, and at any given time during the night, he joins us on the bed. He either gets between us, so we're as far apart as we can get, or he gets on my side and pushes us both to the other side, so he has one whole side to himself:LOL: And since we have a waterbed, when one of us moves, he rolls right along with us, so if I try to move over and get more room, I end up with less room:LOL: I don't have the heart to make him quit getting up there, although Stacy gets ill sometimes, when he wakes up without any cover, or hanging off the edge:rolleyes: Oh, and the hair, yes I have to change our sheets every other day, or use the heck out of a lint roller. Just think..........black sheets (sometimes) and a snow white baby:LOL: There's just nothing like waking up with that sweet face in your face, snoring away ('cept when he's snoring loud enough to wake the dead:LOL: )

*Good luck with getting your baby out of the bed:p

Solved that problem over the weekend---we bought a king size bed :D It's being delivered on Thursday, so I'll let you know how it goes ;)

My girls are pretty good about sleeping on their own beds. They like their own space. In the wee hours of the morning, Lexi and Dusty will ocassionally climb in bed with us if it's chilly. Lexi way more than Dusty. Baxter however is a whole other issue. He puts his mug on the bed and whines and paws at it until you let him up. It is getting harder for him to get up on the bed these days. He is a bed hog though. Lexi curls up, she isn't too bad to sleep with--Baxter sprawls out and practically kicks you out of the bed. I fold back the covers and help him up--he curls up on my side with his head on my pillow and I get crushed between him and my husband (I have a heck of a time getting up in the mornings from imbetween the two of them). Hubby doesn't like any of them in the bed (on his side mostly) because he doesn't want to be squished. When we went bed shopping he wanted to buy a tall bed so that poor old Baxter couldn't get up on it but once we laid down on it, he realized there was room for all three of us (I also talked him into a pillow top, you know those old aging boxer bones need some good support and comfort) :D Hubby is all talk though, guess who was helping the old man on the bed last night grumbling all the while
