I got my Cora a harness today. She wasn't horrible on walks but def better off leash than on. She is still small though. Anyhow I got her a M(edium) at first. It fit OK but at almost 5 months and ~36lbs it was almost too small. I went back and got her a L(arge). It fits much better. The straps are like twice as thick. I thought there would be some more overlap in between the two sizes but there isn't that much. We have it on upside down with all the straps set to smallest setting. And she's still got a lot of growing left.

Btw: first time out huge difference. I though it would help me correct pulling but she didn't even pull. Maybe because its a new thing for her we'll see. But she was def comfortable in it doing her thing :)

In regard to the sizing questions - I bought my dog an easy walk harness this weekend, mostly because I'm sick of people asking me why he's muzzled (when the gentle leader is on).

Kevin is somewhere in the 50 pound range (he's 8 months) - he was just over 50 pounds the last time he was weighed, but that was a month or so ago and he's gotten a bit bigger, I think. We got him the large, and it *just* fits. One of the straps I had to tighten all the way. I think the medium/large would probably be the perfect size for him right now, but they did not have it at the store, and I think he will grow into this one quickly enough. The medium one didn't seem like it would fit him for very long, if at all (such a big chest).

FWIW, at Petco they let me put it on him in the store and walk him around a bit with it on, so I knew that the size would work.

I ordered mine on line..I got the medium and took it home to try on him. But after 2 days it was not comfortable so i went back to the store and exchanged it for a L. You can adjust them. Tyson weighs 50lbs and this works great. He is really doing great with it..He enjoys his walks

"No Pull" Harness a Must!

I was having trouble with Roxy pulling and went to Petco to buy a choke chain to train her. I KNOW...I HAVE MADE SOME REALLY UNINFORMED DECISIONS IN THE PAST. A dog trainer I was considering hiring told me to get one. (Needless to say I never hired him.) Well, THANK GOD, when I asked a PetCo trainer what size was best for Roxy she urged me not to buy a choke chain and explained the dangers and negative aspects. She recommended a "no pull" harness and showed me how to put it on her and showed me how much control I would have with it. I have to say it has been amazing! Roxy learned to walk by my side, heel, stay, within days. The Petco trainer told me that her dog's trachea was broken and he needed surgery after he saw some animal across the street and tried to chase it. She was using a regular collar and the force he put into it caused him to break his trachea. I was horrified especially since I had been pulling a lot to counter Roxy's pulling. I never walk her without her "no pull" harness now. It really works miracles with the pulling. Roxy uses a Medium...she's in the 40's now in weight..I'm going to have to buy a large soon though..she's pretty close to outgrowing it.
