Progress!! and a scare :(

I had a MAJOR scare this morning. On our morning walk today, there was a loose dog. As a turned a corner (with a fence blocking the view), there was the dog. I braced for the worst!!! But, I got the best!!

Adam began barking at the dog and slightly pulling the leash, I told him to "sit" and he did!! YEAH!!! Although he was still barking- he sat. Fortunately, the dog just ran away. GUess Adam's bark was too scary for him

On top of everything, we were on a street we have never walked on before. We have been working on his leash pulling. Since he is getting so much better on our "normal" route, I've been going different ways around the neighborhood (yup, it's just like starting all over on the leash pulling!)

And an update on puppy school. . . we have 2 classes left. To graduate basic training, Adam needs to practice his "wait" time- they want one full minute!! Adam is at about 50 seconds- so almost there!!!! Otherwise, he plays good with 1 of the pups in class. Still not too good with the old lab and Jax the boxer, but its getting s-l-o-w-l-y better, and he's great at "leave it" and "recall" while in the aisleways at the store.

glad to hear that nothing happened.
That happened to us last night when hubby and I took our 2 for a walk there was a rotti out just running around, the owner said "oh she's fine" and I felt horrible (I love rotti's btw) but I had to tell her that sable was not good with other dogs, so she had to corral her dog back and all it wanted to do was play. :( it was sad because I knew Tyson wanted to play too and sable... well we don't know she has been so aggressive lately to other dogs. She barks at them at our windows and in our back yard if she sees one in the parking lot behind our house (our yard is fenced but if she stands on the deck she can see over the fence)

A few weeks ago I was walking both Tyson and sable and 2 little weiner dogs attacked us as we walked past their house they ran out of their yard and started biting Tyson and Sable's legs, I was so greatful I had Halti's on both of them because I know they would have bit back to defend themselves, the owners of the other wee dogs ran out and said sorry, but I have heard that others have been attacked while walking past there too!

People need to make sure their dogs are contained if they arent being watched properly!

Its annoying to be out on a leisurely stroll and for a dog to come out of nowhere and start barking and snarling at you!

Again, Im glad nothing happened and I'm glad your babe listened to you
