Hi y'all, I am hoping someone out there can answer a question about doggie dentistry.
Sadie, our brindle boxer puppy is female and now 14 weeks old.
We have been watching her mouth carefully for a few weeks now. It seems that as soon as her teeth come throught her gums, they are worn right down.
Her eye teeth look like they are hollow or have a cavity down through the centre of them. Her back teeth look like they are fine, but all of the front ones from the "fangs" forward are just wearing down smooth almost back to the gums. At first we thought that boxers may develop at a different rate than our other dogs, but she should have longer teeth by now!
Has anyone else had this problem? What can be done about it and will her adult teeth grow in alright if we give her extra calcium and vitamins in her diet?

are these baby teeth? baby teeth are softer then adult teeth. if these are adult teeth then maybe they have not grown in all the way yet. but if you think that she has a cavity then bring her to the vet and see what he says.

baby teeth

most dogs don't have most of their adult teeth until 6 months of age. If these are adult teeth that your describing your baby may have nutritional inbalnces that need to be investgated.

You might like to ask your vet about it, but since these are baby teeth, I wouldn't be too concerned. I would, however, urge you to be extremely cautious about supplementing a pup's diet with calcium. That is something that should only be done on medical advice, and when a known deficiency exists. Too much calcium will cause growth and bones disorders.
