Here are a couple of websites that have been great resources for both myself and friends. I hope its ok to post these if not, I apologize.
www.petfinder.org and click on the classified section or select search by state and that lists local rescues or animal shelters that have what you are looking for.
Edited by Moderator. Please check the rules - you may not post links to other forums This is another site and posts are usually from caring people who are looking for good homes or you can place an ad saying you are looking to adopt. This one doesn't allow breeders to advertise and also provides transportation information for people who need transportation from far away.
I found my Cooper through one of these and though we have no history on his background (parents, health, where he was purchased etc) he has been a wonderful boxer and has no issues what so ever. We got him when he was just over 1 years old because his first owners got divorced and then placed him with another woman who had a cat and he supposedly wasn't cat friendly...but that turned out to be our gain! We adopted him (Free of charge!) and we had a cat and Cooper gave chase at first, but eventually learned to like the kitty.
With the right resources you will find one that meets your needs for the price you can afford. Good luck to you, no matter what you pay they are truly the best and will give it all back to you in love!
