Boxer Insane
Great news - NO CANCER! They took out and biopsied a lymph node, a calcium deposit, some pus and a piece of his rib and everything checked out ok. The surgery was 3 hours and he's in some pretty significant pain but they had him sitting in a chair when I saw him at 7:00 last night. The nurses said it was pretty awesome he was able to handle sitting for an entire hour since most people don't get out of bed for a couple of days. He's still got a chest tube, catheter and about 4 different IV tubes. He looks like a macrame project gone horribly wrong! Thankfully our niece is an RN at the same hospital in the ICU unit. So while she can't actually take care of him, she is on duty today and tomorrow and will be there to check in and to keep him company since I can't visit until the evening. I feel like I can breathe again and hopefully this roller coaster is on the final down hill. DH has never been away from the dogs unless we have both been gone together. He likes to say that Bella is a mama's girl but she has been sitting in the front window whining while she waits for him to pull in the driveway. She can't seem to figure out why his truck is here but he isn't. My mom is going to let them out to potty today while I'm at work so that they aren't cooped up for too many hours. Gee I hope they come back into the house for her!
Thanks for all the BW prayers - I knew they would work!
