Hi, I have a question for yall. Do I have the only dog that pouts?? If we pay more attention to each other or the new puppy my boxer will turn his back to us and put his nose up in the air. If we call his name he will turn just his head around and kinda snort at us. it is the funniest thing, but it makes us feel so guilty!! Just curious.

Oh yes... and I used to react to the pout & the whine because I thought something MUST be wrong. Now we are trying to always ignore the whines (the pouts are harder to ignore... ), so she doesn't get in the habit of doing it for attention.

Don't worry, you're not the only one who's pup pouts. :)

My Cleo definitely pouts. She is sensitive and gets very annoyed at different things. She gets jealous of Jake many times. I swear she checks to make sure his cookie or treat isn't any bigger than hers! Also, if anyone raises their voice at her she'll pout and give an attitude. It's one of the things I love about her. She's just so sweet one minute and all uppidy the next! Jake on the other hand, couldn't care less. Nothing phases him. They are so different in that way.

LOL...Murph, who has since passed away pouted very well! He would let out this huge sigh and then lay his head down and pout!! Too funny...Boxers have so much personality!

Toffee pouts too! When I pull my bags out to leave, I swear she frowns. It's all for show, because according to my parents, she's playing with her squeaky soccer ball approximately 3 seconds after I pull out of the driveway, but she sure makes me feel guilty!

She also lets out big sighs if she is disgusted with you for some reason (like making her move when she doesn't want to).

Last weekend at the horse show, we met a little boxer puppy (SO cute!!) that was 3.5 months old. She went over to her and sniffed and then turned around and sat with her back to the pup, LOL! Whenever I went to pet little Lexie, Tof was right there, though. It was funny to see--she consistently reacted that way to the puppy over the weekend.

Pooh is the same way :) If Daddy talks to or tries to pet one of the other babies, she barrels in between them or goes to her bed and lets out this poor me sigh like she is so neglected :P. The funniest thing was last year when I came home from the hospital. While I was in I would call home and dh would put the phone on speaker so I could talk to all of them (my mom thought I was nuts) but when I got home I got a severe case of cold shoulder from Miss Pooh.queenicon Kind of like "Hey-you never got my permission to leave me " It was a quite a surprise to me too-an outpatient procedure turned into a 4 day stay-- But after a couple of hours when she figured I was settled in the bed she very gingerly came up on the bed for a good long snuggle and Moms little protector angelicon

I swear my katie is the stereo-typical "jewish mom" , boy she is very very good at the guilt! it has become an artform for her. The sighs, the facial expressions, even the ears.... she is just such a nut. She even has this one expression, i call it her "i am an abused dog" look. She gives that to me whenever i dont add canned food to her dry or am too busy to play with her at a specific moment! These boxer babies are such characters :D

Buster pouts when he's scolded. Let me say this - when his daddy scolds him. I let that dog walk all over me, but his daddy keeps him in line.

When his daddy gets on him and he starts pouting, I call the baby to the back of the house and cuddle with him to make him feel better......

Pouting...definitely!

Teiga, our first boxer, was the best at it. If she would be put out or annoyed with you at all she would purposely come up and sit down in front of you with her back to you and wouldn't budge, wouldn't look at us or anything. She would just sit there and give the Hmp sound when you would try to talk to her. It was kinda funny that she reacted like that. Boy do they know how to get to you!

Sirus is so awesome at guilt trips. He is such a pouter...it's so pathetic that it's cute!
He does the whole ignoring thing too. Where if you call his name he'll snort and turn his head away with his nose up in the air. such a funny sight!
So...no...to answer your question...yours isn't the only one that pouts.
