Boxer Pal
I am a new boxer mom to a 9 week old male fawn Moogie..love him to bits! I feel just like I did when I was a first time real mom..
...scared to death that I am going to ruin him!
So my question is...we are doing well with potty training I think..we go from 10 to usually 6 or 7 all night no accidents in the crate..and we have only had one oops in the house..totally my fault. But I have a few questions...call it the nuerotic mom in me..
1. Should I be putting him on the leash to go out and potty..(we live in a rural area..no concerns about safety at home in our yard)..he absolutely hates the leash..we have been rewarding and treating for walking..but he still hates it. Am I going to cause him to rebel against potty training? My only reason for wanting to put him on the leash to go out is that the area we designated for "doing his business" is right next to a flower bed, and our front sidewalk...he has started to do his thing on my sidewalk..and in the flowerbed..which I don't think is good...I have been stopping him from going on t he sidewalk, but without the leash...he never stays in the grassy area...and almost everytime now he goes in one of the no no places...but when I put him on the leash...he won't go..he just sits and stares at me..
...and back to the crate he goes..and back out again in a couple minutes...the same results...I am frustrated...
Any advise would be SOO helpful...I appreciate it!
