Poor Boxer on Dr. Phil

I sent an email to Dr. Phil voicing my opinion regarding that "child" and his destructive behavior towards animals.

I'll let you all know if I get a response.

I'm thinking about emailing and offering to take the poor dog who is an obvious victim of abuse!!!

I too have kids...hitting each other wasn't permitted. It happened, but here were repercussions. Neither was hitting animals. I have civilized young adults now. Funny how that works.

I didn't see the show, but this thread reminded me that many violent criminals are found to have been animal abusers when they were young! Poor boxer. And when that dog eventually reacts in self defense, boxers everywhere will be misunderstood. A sorry situation all around!

I'll be e-mailing Dr. Phil now, too.

In the e-mail to Dr. Phil I suggested that if he still has contact with that women that she might want to think about give the dog to a rescue or put it up for adoption.
Im sure that the first time that dog goes to protect itself that lady will have the dog put down or abuse it more for protecting itself.
If that demonspawn of a child is abusing that poor dog now..what will he be doing to animals or humans when he gets older. Sounds like the making of a criminal or serial killer to me.

Dr.Phil show e-mailed me back to say they got my email and could be responding.

I saw it this afternoon too. I was furious with the whole show. They filmed the boy hitting the dog and the parent was standing right there and did nothing! Dr. Phil did really lay it out for the parents, but said nothing about the dog. What a great boxer boy! As far as a medical condition, they mentioned an impluse disorder or ADD (I think they really meant ADHD). However, that really shouldn't change the fact that the parents are allowing this kid to beat up everyone in the house. I hope that they get some help beyond an 8 minute appearance on Dr. Phil.

I think it is completely ridiculous for parents to feel like they are "being too harsh" and they dont want to discipline their children b/c its mean. I have a 9 month old daughter, so I dont really have experience with my own toddler or tot, but I know that when I was a kid, if I acted up my Dad would let me know that if I didnt "straighten my act up" he'd "let me have it". My father Never hit me, but he didn't have to.. I knew he meant business when he told me that. I think parents are too afraid to discipline their kids or yell at them ... they are afraid their kids "wont like them" anymore. (I use quotes because I have actually heard parents say this!) Your kids arent supposed to like you while their kids, DUH!

Like Ray's dad Frank, from Everybody Loves Raymond, said, "You're not a truly successful parent until your child says they 'hate' you."

I feel sorry for that poor dog, and if he couldn't tolerate the abuse anymore, he would really be the one with the blame. If those parents couldn't control their child, they shouldn't have had a pet. People like that make me so frustrated!! :D sorry so long, I just had to vent about it!!

That Dr. Phil show was a rerun. I saw it the first time it aired (not too long ago). I was appalled by all the out of control kids on that show especially the one who hit the boxer. As a long time viewer of Dr. Phil, I wanted to mention that he knows the connection between animal abuse as a child and violence as an adult.

I too cannot understand how an adult can't control a 4 year old! :rolleyes: There's probably really nothing medically wrong with that child, he's just doing what comes natural... if the parents let him get away with everything then he's just gonna be a wild brat. Just how it works. No I have never raised a child but from what I have seen that's how it goes. My cousin is also 4 and he gets away with everything and will pitch a big fit for any reason he's told no. And parents normally give in to make the fuss stop, and so it goes.:rolleyes:
Really too bad. Hope they get the kid under control or find that poor boxer baby a better, safer place to live.

I didn't see it, but judging by everyone's despcription, it sounds like my next-door-neighbor's 2.5 year old. They got a sharpei pup and couldn't keep her because the little boy terrorized her. He hit, kicked, etc. the poor little thing, so I guess they took her back to the breeder or something.. They also have 2 rotties and a pom. and one day I looked out of my backdoor and saw the little boy kick one of the rotties and it just sat there, and he kicked it again and tried to pull the rottie off the ground. Poor baby(rottie) just layed there. He also does that to the other rottie and the pom. BUT the pom. doesn't take anything off of him.. The whole situation angers me!:mad:
