Poll - Do You Crate Your Boxer?

Not anymore!

When she was a pup she destroyed my leather shoes and peed and pooped all over the place. I disciplined her on the shoes and never happened again.

I think when she finally was house broken we let her out the crate for good.

Over all nothing gets destroyed if we are not home.

She just looks out the window or sleeps on her bed or in her crate (open door poilcy) Mind you. She is 8 now, she was crated for 6 months as a puppy.

The only time the dogsare crated is when I leave for a few hours at a time. And that hardly ever happens because I am such a homebody

Macie is crated whenever we leave the house, and it is open for her to go in during the day.

We tried to leave her alone in the house once for about 10-15 minutes and she got scared. She went potty twice in the house (right near the door, so we know she was looking for us!!) and when we came home she was hiding in the sheets on our bed, shaking. She LIKES to be crated, I guess!

My 2 are crated at night and when I am out. I am starting to train them to sleep outside the crate at night, but if Cairo is not in the bed with me, he roams the floor and in the morning I will find a wet spot. In the bed with me they are great, but my back isn't!

We do not crate Atlas. We did put him in his crate when he was small. We still have his crate in the computer room with the door open because he likes to sleep in it sometimes.

chloe has never been crated. none of my dogs ever have or will be. luckily every dog weve had has never destroyed anything other then their toys. chloe just sleeps until we get home.(you can tell the bed is all messed up )

Rocco is crated. We are tossing around the idea of letting him have the hallway when we are gone but not yet. I think he'll always have his crate, he goes in on his own and takes naps in there all the time...it's his safe place I think if we took it down he wouldn't know what to do with himself.

Ozzy is crated during the day when we are gone to work. (We have someone let him out for an hour at lunch!) We let him sleep with us at night because we feel bad putting him in the crate for any longer than 6 hrs. in a 24 hour span.

Actually it depends on which boxer???? ShaKira most definately, always, when we go away and at bedtime, she is into everything. Levi on the other hand, is never crated, and he is just a baby. He never bothers anything. It is weird because ShaKira is going to be three in November and Levi is only six months old, we tried to crate train him and he is clastrophobic and freaks, so we tried to allow him to roam and it worked beautifully, now I don't think that Miss ShaKira will ever be able to have that kind of freedom, but, on a side note, she really loves her crate, so I guess yes and no is my answer. :D
