Fugger got his name before he was a twinkle in our eye. WAAAY back when I was little my dad brought home a rooster who came with the name Fugger. When I told hubby the story, he said if we ever got a dog, that would be his name and it stuck!

Now we are bringing home a new boy in April and trying to come up with a name. My 3 year old loves "Knucklehead" and I like "Captain" but we are not sure yet.

Zuki - my husband has been involved with a very traditional form of martial arts for the last 20 years. We liked the sound of Zuki (zoo-kee). "Zuki" is a type of punch/strike.... get it? Boxer's "punch". about 7 years ago someone told us that Zuki can also me "love".

Liam - a nice Irish name (hubby and I are both of Irish heritage). it also means "unwavering protector"

Moby - he was a big puppy...a white "whale" of a puppy. we were tossing around names and it was between Moby or Beluga...we decided on Moby.

Dakota (RIP) - his name meant "to think of as friend" (sioux indian, i believe)

we still have to come up with catchy "registered" names for Liam and Moby when we decide to compete in obedience......but we haven't decided on anything yet. that will be a painstaking process, i'm sure. :)

We were tossing around names and my bf suggested Madden among others and it just fit. It's perfect because he tells people we named him after John Madden the football guy but I say it's Steve Madden for the shoes!

Not exactly sure how our why we came up with Otis for our new little guy. But whenever he goes somewhere with us, and we tell them his name is "Otis" the immediately say "he looks like an Otis!"

I'm in the habit of making a nickname for everyone, everything like I called Guinness "POOH" I call Otis "Naughter" when he does something naughty and other times I call him "Bunny"

I don't know exactly how I come up with it. I guess part of it my mom had lots of nicknames for me when I was a kid........

When we adopted Waldo at the age of 2,we couldn't really change his name seeing he's had it from birth. It does suit him though,as he's such a clownlovicon

DH has named all of our dogs so when we were looking at Boxers, he went through Boxer (as in people) names. Finally he said that all boxers (again, people) are called "Champ" so we named him Champion.

I went with a football (Buffalo Bills) theme as well. I named him after Cornelius Bennett (former linebacker of the Bills). And his registered name is [Kennel Name]'s Homemade Biscuit. (Cornelius Bennet's nickname while playing football was Biscuit). :)

We named ours Kane. We wanted to come up with something in honor of our 1st boxer baby Toby, who passed at 8 years old. We also wanted to incorporate that we got them both in Utah. Kane has a meaning of Honor,Tribute in Celtic/Gaelic, plus there is a Kane County in Utah, and it didn't hurt that it also happens to be the last name (although missing the H) of one of my husband's favorite NASCAR drivers Kasey Kahne!

My DH got to pick the sex of the baby, I got to pick out the actual pup and
my son named him Cody. We had turtles and fish that were all named Zack or Mack or something that rhymed. I told him it has to be different than that and he came up with Cody. I liked it and it stuck. It fits him well, very perky, just like him.
