i signed! i actually know a pit bull that was rescued from animal shelter and she is the sweetest thing ever.. i never heard her bark at anyone.. and she'll lick ya to death! and she was afraid of 2 little kittens! haha... i feel so bad for those pits that get into the wrong hands and get beat and fought with other dogs.. it kills me to think that people actually do that to dogs...

NEVER say NEVER ..... A dog is a dog anyway you put it. These poor animals were made this way from people, not themselves. Humans made them fighting dogs !!!! They are terriers for Christ's sake. I don't understand how anyone can find this feesable. Please please vote !! Show your support for this breed. We have a pit at home, and she licks me more than my boxer !! She is a love muffin and smiles everytime I come in the door. Trust me .. it is the trainer.. not the dog !

I signed the Pit Bull ban

It seems Dalton and his buddies are trying ban the wrong end of the leash.

The media here in Ontario has effectively painted the pit bull breed, ( and anything that remotely looks like a pit bull ), as a remorseless, vicious, man eater.

Hardly a day goes by when my beautiful, perfect, brindle boxer is not mistaken for a Pit Bull. In the near future I expect to be confronted daily by people insisting that I place the required Muzzle on her when she is out in public. ( the muzzle requirement for existing pit bulls will be part of the pit bull ban here in Ontario ).

I voted too...

We too live in Ontario and often come face to face with people who believe our Boxer to be a pit bull. It is disheartening to see this breed and any dog that remotely falls into this category be scrutinized as being dangerous.
I personally think the responsibility lies with the owner of any dog.
In our area (Southwestern Ontario), there are Pit bull owners who obviously own this breed for pure protection only. They treat them badly and the dog becomes mean and as a result the rest of the responsible owners suffer.
Don't get me wrong, I do feel sorry for the victims of ill-raised dogs but at the same time I do not beleive the dogs are responsible. It is criminal to ban a breed of dog because of the ignorance and irresponsiblity of the owners.
That is my two cents worth...

Please remember, for a petition to be submitted to the Province, only those living in Ontario are eligible to sign and do not need to be of the age of majority.

Thanks for the support but it doesn't look like neighbors to the south are going to be able to help us win this one

I was wondering about that. I was going to sign but then thought about it. What do government officials in Ontario care what I have to say about upcoming legislation? I don't live there.
It looks like it's up to those of you that live in Ontario to fight this one. Tell everyone you know and try to get them to sign. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that you stop this from happening. If it passes there, where will it happen next? Good Luck!cool2icon

I've signed

I think the pitition will be a hard factor in the end I know a few pitts and there the sweetest dogs you will ever meet there owners are very good to them but they know when to put there foot down on bad behaviour. I think the ban isn't right and shouldn't go through.
