I just logged on and read your post. So sorry to hear about Casey. I can't think of anything more frustrating than having a child (skin or fur) sick and not being able to do anything to fix it.

{{{{{Healing Vibes}}}}}} and prayers for you and Casey

I hope someone has the answers for you. I agree with the others that I would try another vet, if nothing else just for a second opinion and so you know you did everything you could.

Keep us posted

I think I may know what is wrong with Casey. It may be Cushing's Syndrome. Please see http://www.****************/library/cushingsdisease.html
This disease involves malfunctioning adrenal glands (kidney).

A colleague of mine has a beagle with Cushing's. The symptoms were almost identical to Casey's. With the help of some medication dog is now doing very well. Please go to the vet immediately and have them run a test for Cushing's. I am anxious to hear back from you. Stay strong! Licks and wags to Casey :)

I have a labbie with Cushings Diesease and she had many of the same symptoms. I had to insist to the vet that they check her for this and the first test came back negative. I knew this was what she had so I took her to another vet who was more aggressive in finding out what was wrong. There are other tests that can be done to check for this disease if the first one comes back negative. My new vet ran a test that was more sensitive and sure enough it came back positve. Within a week the sores she had all over were healing up and she was back up and around. After three months on treatment she runs around like a young pup and you can tell in her eyes and expressions how much better she feels. No matter if it is Cushings or something else you have to be forceful sometimes in getting the vet to run tests to figure out what is going on. You may even have to change vets if yours is not willing to go the extra mile you are willing to travel.

I would definately be getting a second opinion and fast. her.

I agree wholeheartedly! Thira's Mom is giving you a good link too about Cushing's - if possible print off the info and take it with you to the vets. INSIST he takes you seriously - Poor Cassie - I'm praying all will be ok.

O gosh I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I would definitely get a second opinion especially if your current vet has not done a biospy on the tumors. Paws crossed its something that gets a true diagnosis today so that proper treatment can begin.

Hi Casey's Mom. I could not sleep very well last night thinking of your pup. Please update us regarding your pup's status when you are able. Thinking of you here in Seattle. Best of luck.
