Super Boxer
I was reading a post on a boston terrier message board.. and it broke my heart!! I was hoping the wonderful boxerworld community would agree to help make this nine year old boys final living days memorable.. Please Help... here's the original message....
" Dear friends~
I have a heartfelt request to make of each of you. Here is the story:
My 9 yr old cousin Nicholas (born on Christmas Day) is dying from a malignant naso-pharyngeal (spelling??) tumor. For the last year he has undergone heavy chemo., radiation, and then surgery this past August... Nothing stopped the tumor. In fact, within weeks of the surgery it was clear that the tumor was growing at more than 3x the previous rate. At this point, Nick has been given less than one month to live. The tumor has blinded him, deafened him, and is actually growing out of his eyesockets, nose, and mouth... Horrible to read about, but unimaginable to LIVE with every day, like Nick and his mom have been.
Even though the tumor has disfigured him and stolen some of his senses, Nick is still "in there" and alert, interested, and wanting to participate in things... However; because of the way he now looks, his mom doesn't want to take him out in public. Nick understands, but he still wants to do "fun" things.
My request of you:
If each of you could simply take a moment to send a silly card or note to cheer Nick up in these final days, I know it would mean the world to this incredible little boy, and to his mom and grandparents. Not to mention ME.
If you can do this for Nick, I'd be eternally grateful.
Please send cards/notes to:
Please PM for address
**I'm having you mail them to me because Nick and his Mom live in a crappy trailer park and she's been having lots of trouble with the mailboxes and getting her mail at all.
THANK-YOU.
Very truly yours,
Carlene"
I have already picked out a card and I am sending it tomorrow morning, I want this boy to see that so many people care about him and have him in their thoughts and hearts.. thank You.
