pitbulls dont cry- Poem

this mad me so sad because I know this is exactly what these poor dogs go through

I see the children in the lane
They look like friends, we'll have a game
They've got a stick, oh boy, what fun
They'll throw it for me and I'll run
But someone stops me,
I wonder why their mother screams "Don't go near those"
Horrid Dogs, come here, come close
They're dangerous-I'll tell you why
They bite little children and they die
All I can do is watch and sigh
Cause now I know that Pit Bull's don't cry

Mum cuddles me up and says "My pet
We love you dearly so don't you fret"
But I love everyone out there
Why can't they love me, I do care
I wish they weren't made to pass me by
I'm a Pit Bull, I don't cry

I sit behind my padlocked gate
From early morn til quite late
When I go out it's on a lead
Is mine the only heart to bleed
I'm held in check as the world goes by
I wish the Pit Bull heart could cry

There are some dogs, and also men
Who cannot tell a foe from a friend
So all of us must bear the blame
Expected to live a life of shame
Condemned, alas and we know not why

All we know is we will not cry!

Ditto...Very sad :( I had a Pit Bull/Boxer mix (just recently posted a thread about Remembering Shelby in Rainbow Bridge on her) and that was the best dog I have ever had the privelege to raise.

I plan on sending this to a lasy at work. she has 4 rescued pit bulls and knows what wonderful dogs they are!

So sad because it's so true..I hate to admit it but I'm guilty too of feeling that way towards the poor animals. I suppose it's less about the dog and more about the owner on the other end of that massive chain around the poor dogs neck. The person that is strutting his dog like he's wielding a weapon. I agree its the pit bulls that have suffered at the hands of men. Unfortunately isn't this all to often the case.

that is so sad -

one of my friends' went to the brazos county shelter (in texas) this past weekend and saw a puppy pit bull there and they said because they don't know what the lineage is of their past, that if the owners dont come forward, they would have to put it to sleep. my friend kept begging that she would take the dog, spay it, and take great care of it but they kept saying 'its policy...' ... i feel that that is completely wrong and maybe even against the rules because she only wants to help the dog (she already has a *very* spoiled pitt bull pup!) ... she is really upset about it and is trying to do everything in her power to stop that pup from being put to sleep...

we were thinking about rescuing a pitt bull because of all the bad names they get and all the help they need, but we still haven't decided, because we know boxers in shelters need help, too ... ((we are totally stuck on boxers)..

This story is so sad and so true. My best friend has two pits a boy of 1 and a girl of 4 months. They are honestly two of the best dogs I know. They are always well behaved and the boy Petey loves me. He sits in my lap the whole time I am there.

I will admit my friend and I would swear the only way those dogs would hurt anyone is if that person hurt one of their people. But, we also agree that is the only way my boxer would attack.

It is so sad that a few bad people have ruined this poor breeds reputation. And these young boys that where their pit dog like a badge make me sick.

My mother has basset hounds and was the number one complainer when I would let my five year old go to my friends. I think I offended her when I informed her that those lovely little basset babies of hers were much more aggressive with my child than my friends pits were.

I Cannot Express How Angry I Feel When People Dont Know What They Are Taking About When They Say Pit Bulls Are Killers Etc,

They Are One Of The Most Lovable Dog Breeds. They Are Funny And Faithful And So Very Adorable.

Its The Dog That Is Suffering By The Hand Of Its Owner. The Idiots Out There That Teach Them To Attack, To Bite And To Be Agressive
Taunting It Until It Snaps Hitting And Brutalising It.

It Shouldnt Be The Dog That Suffers Death Under These Conditions It Should Be The Owners........why Cant We Put Them Down Instead..?

I Was Walking My Dog Around It One Day And A Lady Started Yelling And Carrying On About The Pit Bull I Was Walking, Saying She Knew What Those Dogs Did And How Could I Even Consider Owning One Let Alone Walking One, Said She Had Read Every Imaginable Thing About Them Etc.................

Well She Soon Shut Up!!!!!! My Dog Was A Staffy!!!!!!!!!!

This is so sad, but true. :( Our neighbors have a pitt name Tyson and everytime I see him I say hello. Tyson always wiggles his tail and never barks, but whenever someone passes by their house they always walk to the other side of the sidewalk. Some people can be so silly.....
