Ok...so we're watching the news tonight specifically to catch a segment on CityPulseTV rergarding the pit bull ban. Our totally misinformed and mislead Attorney General was put to the test by the reporter. There was a paper showing about 20-30 pictures of dogs...most that resemble pit bulls and 1 pitbull. He was asked on occasion prior to this report to point out a pit bull and he (being trained well) pointed to pic 16 which was indeed a pitbull. Tonight he was asked to do the same thing, only he was unaware the reporter had switched the pictures around. Being well trained as he was, he obediently pointed to picture 16 which in fact was NOT a pit bull!! THIS is the man who wants to legislate a provincial wide ban on an animal he cannot even properly identify!! His excuse was that he is an Attorney General, not an animal specialist/dog trainer!! Correct me if I am wrong, but if one in government power promotes a provincial wide ban on anything, should he at least not have some knowledge on the subject?? This is just ridiculous.
On an even sadder note, a 100lb lady was walking her 2 beautiful and very well trained pits when 2 men approached her and 1 kicked 1 of the pits in the shoulder. When the woman intervened, both men knocked her to the ground shouting at her that this is what will happen as long as she has pits in the community!! I am soooo outraged that this ban has been implemented and outraged at the controversy and impending violence against owners and cruelty against pits that this has/will cause(d)!! I am taking part in a poll on-line tonight asking if we vote yes or no to this ban! ( pulse24.com if anyone else is interested!) What is this world coming to when we allow goverment to dictate what type of animal has the right to exist...God created all equally! Where are the laws needed for the abusers...the ones who turn these beautiful creatures into vicious animals?? One has to wonder which breed will be next? I guess that depends on which ones the abusers decide to turn into vicious killing machines! What is so difficult about understanding how this works...viciousness should NOT be something you train out of a dog ...it should not be there in the first place and if it is, you either have a wild animal on your hands or an abused family pet!

So.....if they want to ban vicious pits that attack with no provocation.....
Just what is going to happen to the men that attacked that poor woman?
Guess they'll have to be banned too. While we're at it let's take MORE focus off crime and put it on something else that is productive and logical.
Phooey on them.

DID YOU SEE 40% of the people that voted said ALL dangerous breeds should be banned???? I just can not believe that.......MAN that makes me so mad!!!
Wonder why they don't offer a discussion board for THAT?! OOH my blood pressure just jumped up when I saw that......

I apologize....it is just not fair and there are too many uninformed people out there....and what's worse there are MORE neglectful and abusive owners then uninformed people I bet. :( :( Man that bites......really makes me angry.....

Awww man!! Has anyone else heard of the dog attack in the Toronto area? A Staffordshire Terrier ran out of a house and attacked a 12yr old boy (delivering papers)...the boys mother tried to intervene and the dog attacked her, leaving her with injuries sustained to her arm and hands, I believe. I heard 16 staples and several stitches to close the wounds. The dog has been put down...the owners have been fined. This comes at such a fragile time with so much controversy surrounding pits! And of course, we were all forced to see Mr. Bryant on the soap box again telling us that mothers and children deserve the right to walk around without the threat of being attacked by a pit!! AGAIN...his breed identification is totally misconstrued!
My heart goes out to the boy and his mother, and I pray they recover fully from such a traumatic experience. I am saddened that this has taken place...and I am saddened that this will definately go against the fight againt the ban on pits!
