I used to!

My first boxer, Jake, got a pig's ear each night. We sort of got him hooked on that habit and like clockwork, he know when it was time for his ear. In fact, they were kept in a cabinet above the wall-mounted oven and if any one of us so much as walked past that cabinet, he would woo-woo at us. He just loved his ears! I have often said he probably took a big bag with him at the bridge and will meet me with a pig's ear in his mouth! I never got into that habit with Titus and Lady, first because they are expensive and second, because when I originally tried giving them to Titus, he would sometimes choke on them. I have also heard that they can cause choking. So my two get their nightly treats, Buddy Biscuits, or Trader Joe's biscuits!

Saffie loves pigs ears but gravy bones are her fav

Kona doesn't get them either. She tries to eat them when they get soggy and then she chokes on them.

No pig ears for Lael. They may be just fine to eat, but my personal opinion (having a husband who's raised pigs) is they are not a clean enough animal to eat. I don't eat any pork products either. Just my personal opinion.

No pigs ears or raw hides for my two, not only because they would try to swallow them while they are too big and would choke or cause a blockage but also because of all the chemicals etc they are treated with. I read a very interesting article in the WDJ (whole dog journal) on it.

I don't give pig's ears because they're so gross and greasy. I have given them cow's ears. They are non greasy and more durable. We have enough problems with diarrhea and tummy aches--don't want to encourage them.

I use to give Shotze a pig ear to occupy her while I was cleaning or cooking, but read the stories and bought bully sticks instead. She doesnt like them as much as the pigs ears, but she will chew on them. I also bought her some knuckle bones and she LOVES them.

We used to buy pigs ears and never had any problems, but after reading about the dangers I choose not to give them on a just in case basis. Occasionally we still do get a rawhide treat, but throw it out as soon as it is chewed down to where she shouldn't swallow it.
She loves rib bones and bully sticks so she gets those occasionally.

Mine use to get them but after having to pull pig ears out of his throat a couple times..... NO MORE!! It's just not worth it. What would have happened if I hadn't been watching?!? When he did use to get them, I only gave them while I was home, but, still..... too risky.

No pig's ears or rawhide for Champ. Too risky. He too tries to swallow it whole once it softens up. I stick with stuffed kongs or marrow bones. He loves peanut butter in his kong. Sometimes I'll stuff the kong with the spreadable liver sausage.
