I give them a pig ear almost everyday. It helps when I put them in the kennel, takes their mind off me leaving, or when they are being pest they will stay outside and eat their ear.

Hi, there! We used to give pig's ears to Harley on a regular basis but he made quite a "pig" of himself with them.

He chews on the entire ear and works it until it's a huge blob of slobbery goop

. After he gets it to the right consistency he attempts to swallow it whole. Most times the ear would get stuck in the roof of his mouth and was easily retrieved but, the odd time, it would go part way down Harley's throat and stick there. He almost choked to death on two different occasions so we don't allow him to have them anymore. I think that some dogs handle them better but they're certainly not a safe treat for our boxerbaby!

No pigs ears or rawhide for Tess or Zelda! Too many issues with tummy trouble. We give them Bil-Jac liver treats and edible Nylabones. They only get them once a week at most and they are WAY more expensive but I put no price on piece of mind. I love my babies!

Cooper does not get them. I do occasionally give him the little rawhide chew sticks and he does get a retriever stick about 1 a month. His regular treats are low fat apple cinnamon, lowfat carrot and peanut butter biscuits that are baked in a Baltimore Dog Bakery. He loves them. I buy them by the pound and they are not too expensive. He also gets brewers yeast/garlic tabs as a treat. And P.B. in his kong but only in the crate. He gets so excited to go into the crate that sometimes I can't find him to put him in it because he is already there!

Sergeant does exactly the same as Brenda's Harley, he tries to swallow it in one go! So no pigs ears for him.

No pigs ears for Cooper... when he was a puppy we really got a fright one night when a piece of ear got stuck in his throat and he couldn't clear it... we had to get our vet up in the middle of the night!!!.. Had to knock him out to go fishjing for it

.. so now he gets knuckle bones.... last longer and don't end up costing us $200.00!!!

Bru and Amaya get them occasionally as special treats. Maybe once a month or special holidays. They like them but they are messy and they tend to fight over whose ear is the best. Their favorite treat is peanut butter in a sterialized bone or kong.

no ears here either. Rosie choked on the base of one, luckily I was right there and could fish it out. Plus, if your dog tends to be fat, or is sensitive to fat in the diet, the ears are *very high* in fat.
