Picnic on 3rd day we have her

We get our pup this Thursday and have a family picnic to go to this Saturday. My uncle, who is hosting the picnic has 1 dog that is in good health. Just wondering if it will be okay to take our pup to get used to people or should we not attend and spend the time @ home. She gets her 2nd shots this week. And just wondering what pro vs cons would be? Thanks

Is the picnic at your uncle's house? I wouldn't take a pup that hasn't been fully vaccinated to a public place where lots of dogs are likely to have been.

Buttons gets her last jab this Saturday, then we have to keep her in another week after that.

He only has 1 dog. and lives on 25 ac. No stray dogs around just the 1 he has. i guess we will play it by ear.....

I wouldn't

We picked Keeta up on Sat and had a Family Gathering at Gmas house on Sunday to go to and we did not take Keeta for several reasons.

1) because she is just getting use to her surroundings
2) she is just getting use to us
3) there was going to be 2 kids under the age of 4 there and well... she is just a baby pup.
4) she hasn't had her 2nd set of shots yet
5) she had just been car sick the day before

We did show up late and only stayed for 2 in a half hours, everyone understood why we didn't stay longer.

Its really up to you but we did not take our new pup and besides the vet she has not been anywhere except getting use to her house and surroundings. After her 2nd set of shots we will start taking her to puppy classes and maybe around the block.
