Has anyone here heard of the permanent Make-up? I have seen it on some of the Make Over Reality shows. It is significantly less expensive than some most of the cosemetic surgery. I am a big chicken but I may splurge on my self this year...LOL! Have any of you had this done or know of anyone?

My girlfreind had it done, she had her eyebrows done and also the eyeliner done above and under the eye.....it looks amamzing...she gets out of bed looking like a movie star !!! Do your research though....when she was looking to get it done...she found more bad than good on the proceedure.

like Laurie said - - do your homework!!! I have seen it done and look absolutely amazing. (dont wanna scary ya but... ) However, when i worked for a personal injury attorney, we handled a case where the lady had her eyebrows done & it was a disaster. It totally ruined her eyebrows- loss of the hair and severe scars!

I think it is a wonderful idea-so long as you find the right person to do it.

Even if the procedure goes wonderfully think about the long term reprecussions. Will you at age 55, 65 even 70 still want to look as if you have makeup on all the time?

As we age our skin coloring and hair coloring change. Usually we change our make-up thruout the years to go with our ever changing skin tones. As a hair designer I have seen way too many people go through these situations only to regret them later in life.

Really something to think about. I got a small tattoo as a 16 year old....of course it can be removed with some $$$ but I really wish I wouldn't have been so spontaneous.

Thanks for you thoughts and comments. I am not one to jump on the band wagon with out overthinking it and usually talking myself out of it. I heard an interview with a person who does this on the radio. My question is I have a scar on my lower lip from an accident I had with a razor as a child and if this would affect it in any way. Thanks again for your stories!

Go for it!

I think it would be great! My aunt had her favorite lipstick color tatooed on her lips. She can put a different color over it if she wants. If I was ever feeling brave enough to do it, I'd have my eyebrows done and eyeliner put on. I'm very light complected (sp) so permanant makeup would certainly help me from looking washed out. :)

My mother-in-law had her eyebrows, then lipstick then thin eyeliner done over the past 3 years, and it looks really good. The color did soften/fade a little over time and she says she may go in for a touch up down the road.

Obviously I'd think you'd want to ask around and find someone who has done a lot of this and has a lot of happy clients to provide as referrals.

From what I understand is that it does fade with time, because they use pigment from pigs to get the color and it is not ink like you would get from doing a tattoo...so it's not really "permanent" it does require touch-ups after about 2-3 yrs.
